About - Faoi

Seo Linn are an energetic, trad-influenced, indie-folk band with a powerful sound and exciting stage presence. Their latest single ‘Buy Me Time/Bain an Glas’ is an explosive taster of their new EP which is in the latter stages of production. After a hugely successful 2018 US tour, Seo Linn have been hard at work writing and recording some brand new and exciting material.

Since rising to premature prominence in late 2013 with their viral Irish language cover of Wake Me Up by the late Avicii, Seo Linn have spent the last 6 years travelling the world captivating audiences in Ireland, the US, Australia, across Europe and even Africa.

The release of their debut album, Solas (NÓS Album of the Year 2018), brought Seo Linn to the next stage in their careers. Solas, a collection of original material projects they have been involved in, includes tracks like Music Makers that was written for RTÉ’s critically acclaimed ‘Centenary’, The Irish Roar that was selected as the Official FAI song for Ireland’s 2016 European Championship campaign and Ar Scáth a Chéile, the very first song they wrote while in Uganda with Gorta Self-Help Africa.

Stiofán, Keith, Daithí, and Kev have brought together their musical talents to create a distinctive style that meshes the old and the new. Their sound encapsulates a traditional sense of Irishness through the medium of contemporary, high octane, engaging music in what we can only describe as a treat for your ears. This is a band that you need to see live to believe the incredible energy and engagement that they bring to the stage.

Is banna fuinneamhúil, eisceachtúil é Seo Linn a chumann agus a chasann a cheol féin a bhfuil anáil an traidisiúin agus na tíre air. Is é Bain an Glas an singil spleodrach nua acu a thugann le fios don éisteoir a bhfuil ar na bacáin ag an ngrúpa lena EP úr atá á chur i gcrích acu faoi láthair.

Ó phléasc Seo Linn amach as Coláiste Lurgan lena leagan de Wake Me Up le hAvicii as Gaeilge, tá siad tar éis 6 bliana a chaitheamh ag taisteal an domhain ag mealladh éisteoirí in Éirinn, sna SAM, san Astráil, trasna na hEorpa agus fiú amháin san Afraic.

Nuair a tháinig a albam oscailte, Solas, amach (NÓS Albam na Bliana 2018), d’éirigh le Seo Linn an chéad chéim eile a thógáil. Bailiúchán d’amhráin nuachumtha é Solas a bhfuil leithéidí de Music Makers; a scíobhadh do chlabhsúr RTÉ Centenary, The Irish Roar; a bhí mar amhrán oifigiúil an FAI do Euro 2016 agus Ar Scáth a Chéile; an chéad amhrán ariamh a scríobh siad lena chéile agus iad in Uganda le Gorta Self-Help Africa.

Tugann Stiofán, Keith, Daithí, agus Kev a gcuid tionchar ceoil éagsúla le chéile lefuaim nuálach a chruthú a mheascann traidisiún saibhir na hÉireann le stíl spleodrach, tarraingteach, tíre an cheoil chomhreathaigh s’acu. Is teistiméireacht é an seó stáitse s’acu dá dhíograis a fhágann a rian ar chuile chineál éisteoir. Caithtear a fheiceáil le creidiúint!
